August Fun in Flint!

If you live around the Flint area and you’re looking for something fun to do these last few days of summer, look no further than your own backyard. Check out these events:

Back to the Bricks Annual Drive In Movie is Tuesday, August 13. This year they are presenting “Grease” at the US 23 Drive In. The event is free and there will be tons of cool classic cars to check out. The movie will start when it gets dark.

Back to the Bricks starts getting into full gear (so to speak) on Friday, August 16 with the classic car show from 6-9pm on the bricks of Saginaw Street in downtown Flint. There will be live music beginning at 7pm featuring “The Motown Experience” on the north end of Saginaw near the river.  Then, on Saturday, August 17 the official car show runs from 8am to 6pm. The 2013 HealthPlus CRIM Festival of Races will kick off on Friday, August 23rd with the official race being held on Saturday August 24th beginning at 7:30am. Come cheer on the runners and walkers while spending a great day with your family.  For more information go to http://www.crim.org/.

For families with young children Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad is featuring a “Day Out with Thomas” August 16-18 and August 23-25 from 9am-5pm. Meet Sir Topham Hatt and take an actual train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine. Tickets also include other activities such as storytelling, a video and arts and crafts.
